Modern loneliness

Today, we have the technology and with it—the luxury to reach out to our loved ones with just a click.

The irony is even with the ease of reaching out, it is actually so difficult to have a conversation and connect with people. I find the confines of this modern structure for socializing truly bizarre—I can see and know what you’ve been up to and what is going on in your life (well mostly, whichever part of yourself you choose to share) but I cannot seem to find a way to connect with you. On seeing the side you wish to show people, I get that we all are trying to paint a picture that we want to believe ourselves and turn into reality. It has become more and more difficult for us to be ok with our vulnerabilities because socially we celebrate only the bright side of our lives.

Living in the moment is what we get to hear as a form of advice and it is amazing if you want to make memories and feel emotions. But that does not get you anywhere in the long run; you keep circling round and round.

…“Disconnect to reconnect.”

Having a child at my home, ultimately made living life so much better for all of us, mainly because we found someone who will unapologetically ask for love and will be content on receiving all that we have to offer and ask for more. This does leave you exhausted, but it also forces you to look for more room to love, and give, and live….

Maybe that’s what it is with people, we all have a quotient to love and we are happy and satisfied if someone is willing to receive it all (with genuine appreciation);

That could be a recipe for a happy life if only…

And we have chosen to isolate ourselves from people, yet we often find ourselves searching for people.

Especially this lockdown; restricting movements of goods, services, and PEOPLE

This has made it so much worse.

I wish we all could just come out and play catch or Frisbee or something; it would be so much fun.

Unsure about the future and knowing that these circumstances may never change, we have got to find a way to communicate and connect.

We have got to do something about it.
